Overview
The last pagans of the Hindukush
In three narrow valleys near Chitral live the Kalash — a people whose animist faith, wooden temples and exuberant festivals have survived for millennia at the crossroads of Asia.
This gentle journey visits Bumburet, Rumbur and Birir, timed where possible to coincide with seasonal festivals, alongside Chitral town and the shadow of Tirich Mir, the highest peak of the Hindukush.
- Visit all three Kalash valleys with local hosts
- Optional festival timing — Chilam Joshi and Uchau
- Chitral town beneath 7,708m Tirich Mir
- Small groups with community-first travel practices
